RISE Group Project

RISE poster #2RISE. Recognize. Intervene. Support. Empower. The RISE Campaign was a group service learning project we designed for the Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality (CWGS). In an effort to educate students of the ongoing violence and sexual assault the group evolved the campaign logo RISE, slogan Recognize Intervene Support Empower and a powerful array of graphically designed posters to hang about the campus of UMASS Dartmouth. Together we thoroughly researched the subject, recent news stories, related campaigns and the cold hard facts. We gathered up a catalog of resources and began brainstorming.

RISE came to the surface along with the slogan, a narrowed list of sources, a layout and grid, a selection of typefaces and a process book. We split up the work for compiling the RISE process book, I was assigned Research Part 2 section and all final editing, while individually we designed our own contribution of posters to the RISE campaign. The following are two of my typographic and digitally drawn RISE Campaign posters.

Below are a few excerpts of the Rise Campaign Process Book that I helped design and and edit with another group member Annika Wynne. (together in the photo)
